Can standard voltage Hitec servos run safely on 2S A123 (LIfe) packs?
Can standard (not HV) Hitec servos run on a 2S A123 pack (Life batteries)? I've got some 5965 servos that I'd like to run on a 2S A123 pack instead of messing with a BEC in a large electric plane.
A fully charged 5 cell NiMH is 7.5 volts (1.5v x 5 - I believe) while a fully charge A123 (Life) pack is 7.2 (3.6 x 2). Should be fine?

. Servo - Operating Voltage Range - (Hitec) usuage with NiMH, Lipol & A123 batteries.
extract: |Update 20 Jan 2012:
"Any Hitec standard size servo can be used with unregulated A123's. - Mike."
As always, the higher the voltage, the higher the speed and current draw which inevitably leads
to a reduction in life expectancy of the servo and associated gear.
