I've gotten the same reaction when I flew my Shumate T-38. They are in utter amazement when you launch it by hand. Glossy polyurethane works wonders deceiving the masses!

Can't wait to see how the blue foam as LS2K handles flight stress's over time. I suspect twin Stus and some 6k watts is going to be a lot of get gone and some pretty nice shallow dive speeds.

If anyone can put an aircraft through it's paces Andy can

I'd be up for it, but maybe a smaller one, say half this size.

I know exactly why you mention this though, as there has been a bias in the past against foam. But when you have foam that is used as a composite, and it's engineered, finished, painted and detailed - I can see no reason why it would be any less marvelous than any other jet once it's a jet. In fact I see it the other way around. But that's me.
Not just you... Then again I do work for a company that makes million dollar drones for the military out of foam and carbon fiber so I may just be biased

Yeah I don't think Nut and I are the first to build a 1/4 scale T-38. A guy was playing around with molds for a 1/4 scale T-38 back in 2007. Not sure how far they got with it though.

andy, do me a favor, and measure the width where your canopy willl meet the turtle deck. remember, not the width of the cutout in your fuse, because the canopy dosesnt start unto the crease that runs down the turtle deck. for some reason, i think my drawings are off, it looks too wide. i get 9" in that section...
