Hi,

I have a Freewing SU-35 and think: I need more power and better sound!!
So i dicide to make a lite "operation" on it...

Now i use two Jetfan80. Not the cheapest, but this fans i will have for years
The "operation" was no problem and need only about 1 hour per site.
More difficult was, to bring the servocables to the place that i want... for that i need about 3 hours

Now the elevators work as tailerons.
The ailerons now are only flaps.

Now i have to wait for the HK heli motors with 1600kv. I hope to get complete about 3,6kg thrust at about 100A from one 6s5000mah 65/130c nanotec. We will see...

But i think, pictures says more than my english

Meanwhile, some time has passed and it was working on other projects, but now the maiden can come.

Today was the first four flights!
Flying Weight 3.398g
6s 5000mah 65/130c nanotec
2x Jetfan80 with low cost HK motor 1500kv
complete 104A but only 3.3 kg thrust. Probably because of the small outlet nozzle ...

I only fly with tailerons. The flaps are coupled to the landing gear doors and go as slow approx 18mm down. As a result, I have to keep then a little bit with the elevator.
So it can be incredibly slowly and gently land!

The starts have lasted a little longer, because the main landing gears are too long ...
So I later mounted the smaller HK wheels.

Speed ​​was ok.

More powerful engines are tested the next time.

By the way, today I compared the size with the Grumania Su27. Which is even a little smaller!
So our SU35 certainly tolerate even larger battery - 8000mah 6s?

Did you get to do anything at the EXHAUST side?
The TV gimbals would seem to be a limitation to any diameter increase at that side.
They would remain a bottle-neck.

In mine, the HET2W30 2200KV CS10's don't seem to have any inlet side issue, because if they did then it would stunt the power levels it uses - but they are near equal to bench levels.
eg if inlet side is limited then Amps/power go down, and so does thrust.

If an exhaust side is limited then the Amps go UP and thrust goes down. (But efflux speed probably goes up some amount - but I can't measure that). This is what I am seeing as the predominant issue in the FW Su-35.

So as far as I can see it is only the exhaust side that is a real issue to matter.
The inlet side 'mess' would mainly alter top speeds. So you would give higher priority to tidy that side up if speed was your aim.... or even just if you wanted it more optimal anyway.
But the main focus for thrust and 3D is the exhaust side - if that is even possible with the TV gimbals there.

I have "100 other tests to do" but I should remove the TV and run it on straight out exhausts - opened to 61mm - to test that out too. But I have not looked at the TV units and how limiting the way they are affixed would be to test mods. I wouldn't want to open out the exhausts and then not be able to put the TV units back in later on.

But that is the side (exhaust) I would like to see tests and results from.....
Based off two other 70mm CS10 jets I have, 61mm or so gives better thrust results. Whilst still have very good/high top speeds still.

The MiG is a "Tetris-style" plane from http://www.google.com/translate?u=ht...2&langpair.y=9

It´s 2,1m long and has 1,5m wingspan. For 2x 90mm.
I will use 2x 12s and will get a TOW of ~ 8kg and the thrust should be in the 9-11kg range...

The bigger TV´s nearly finished...
The new outlet has 68mm (before was 60mm) - perfect for the 80mm Jetfans
Now i have to make the thrusttubes and wait for the motors...
The diameter in front of the nozzels at the wood ring is 70mm and the new TV´s safes me 30g


Hope to can make some tests soon.
