Which props are you using? I just got four of these motors and need to get them into action.

cheers,

Nice! What FC are you using - it is very stable at high altitudes when you yaw for your 360 photography.

I called this one Enderman like in Minecraft (tall skinny creepy) and it turned out to be a true monster. Rctimer 1200kv 2822 bell motors, 8" props, 30a Rctimer esc's, Multiwii Crius se, 1800mah Turnigy 3s 40c, Spektrum Dx6i. The battery sits under the flight control in the same plane as the motors to center the mass, the flight control is inline with the props, and the esc's sandwitched between the main frame halves, that leaves the bottom flat.

Those motors are very smooth and make the props sing (or as nice a song as $1.50 balanced Gemfans could possibly sing) Whatever the case, the low profile, high rpm, and small prop combo made this a blast to fly in a gusty field. It could be whipped around and flown like a plane. Turned up the yaw rate to help it rotate a little faster. It was a little power hungry though 6 to 7 minute flights. Unfortunately my confidence got the best of me and I attempted a flip which didn't end well. No major damage just lost a prop and broke the battery mounts. Enough to warrant a re-bulid though. It will fly again maybe with one of those 25a Hobbywing Quattros to clean up the wiring, the 4 30a jammies were pretty crammed in there. Sorry no video but my time with this one was short.

Here is the start of my first attempt to build my own frame. After destroying a TBS frame and Core I figured why not make my own frame and spend the extra $120 on other goodies... Here is the wood I picked up and the general layout I'm going after, it will be cut down of course. I saw another user on the very first page post a similar idea and I also got ideas based off the FLIP FPV and QAV400/500 to try a "dirty" and "clean" levels. I am not sure this is nessacary with wood so let me know what you think. I will use bobbins to make a third layer to mount the APM 2.5, GPS and Receiver and recording camera of choice. I had thought about battery on top but now leaning to battery underneath and running some landing gear.

I'm about to build an H quad and want it to have foldable legs like the one in the 4th post on this thread. It looks to me it is just friction that prevent the arms from folding in the air ? or is there something else I didn't see ?
