Melbourne UAV, sorry to hear about the Devilray crash. We are in a similarly vulnerable position. A timely reminder for us to get on with a backup aircraft which we have let lapse due to the excitement of the moment. Canberra UAV

Thanks,

Yeah it can happen to everyone sooner or later....
I guess we have been pretty lucky as we had gone 4 years with good luck.
(if you don't count the 2009 grass fire in Kingaroy! )

Cheers!

sitting with Joe

Sitting here with Joe in a tech. committee meeting, he is looking rather dehydrated...

Hope teams are working towards their D2's and are progressing well.

Mick is busy with work commitments, so if there are any questions, I'll lookup the thread regularly. However I would strongly recommend that if you have any questions, that you email the tech. committee via email on the outback challenge website.

Cheers

Mark

But Mark, that's not the shirt Joe was wearing when he was last seen!

Hey All,

How is everybody's D2 going?

Here is a quick video of my bottle drop in action!

Quite well , thx, all D2 needed footage and logs are in . Only thing we're missing is the "25H day" to assemble all footage in a presentable way. Well, we manage. Anyhow, try filming an UAS 115 meter high and far away in 4 Degees Celsius temperatures.... and then try to make it clearly visible on a regular Internet stream movie. . BTW great to see your footage!

MUROC Wild-Hogs Video for D2

The "Boss Hog"

MUROC Wild-Hogs "The Boss Hog" - UAV Outback Challenge 2012 Entry (4 min 15 sec)

All the best to the other teams. Be great to meet up with you in Kingaroy and talk flying and the adventures in the air and on the ground that were experienced to get you that far.

Be good to see some other videos posted up; I bet there are some great entries.

Hey,

Hope all is going well with everyone else.

Where do we actually send D2? At 17 pages with photos and diagrams, even the PDF is large. Can we have an FTP site?

Has anyone found the "word" copy of the compliance statement?

Scott won't be rushing to answer, he is busy creating his entry in 47 hours, actually they must be half way through now.

Good luck chaps, and well done Hooks for rushing them two airframes from http://www.fpvflyer.com special order from the factory.

Will be very interesting to see how the X8 pans out. Creating a bottle drop, integrating and autopilot and cameras all in 47 hours, thats quite a tall order.

No doubt the video will be good.
