So a booster is unnecessary? Do you have any range issues?

go solo 1S, its proven, dump the booster and the switch jack and all those wires above 22 gauge.
Make it thick and short and sweet and simple. I have had both my switch jacks on two planes that came with them fail. its not if its when.

All my planes have 1S,, large 1200 size so you don't need any low level alarms as its hard to fly below 3.85v. I am going to try to use the 600 mHr gumstick and I will have to watch things more closely as I sometimes can need to add 600 mHr to my 1200 if I fly a bunch in two days. Most sessions are less than 300 mHr needed to put back in. so we are only tapping 25% capacity with the 1200's.

No range issues. I have attended 4 competitions and I don't even bring my charger to them anymore. When I go to practice I plug in the battery (no switch) and never unplug it when I'm taking a break. I know I have 4 hours and I rarely practice for more than 3 hours.

Depending on what control setup, servos, rx and transmitter you use, flying conditions, your milage will vary.
Pull spring will draw more (my springs are heavy). MKS6100 will draw more. With this setup, voltage will drop to 3.7 in 1.5 to 2hours of flying (continous flying with little breaks in between) on a 1200Turnigy lipo. On charge up, it usually puts back +-600mah...

Are you using something unusual on your spring wire, Jun? Or just short coupled ( I wouldn't think that would be good).

On my Validol with 802's in the wing and 285's in the fuse I went for 3.5 hours and put only 485mah back in although my springs are somewhat weak.

Nah, nothing special, just set up stronger, especially on the rudder.
Just doing some experimentations with servo/spring setups. No, it's not good so I've been reducing it lately.

I do wish someone would determine an exact spring force number we need to aim for?
I could deflect the rudder on my scale and see if I'm the right range. I have some feel for a good spring now but as a newbie I never found any real numbers.

What wire size are you using? Seems like .020"-.025" is pretty normal....
There seems to be many options, multiple wires, staple bends, 180 degree bends, etc, etc.
I figure if the servo almost moves on its own when the radio is if, that's pretty stiff... but I don't know either.

I found .025" way to stiff? More like a 1.5" length of .015-.018". But I think the spring rate varies. I'm leaning to using two lighter springs. Terminate them next the horn on the moving, weaker half. Extend then under the carbon spar on other end. My Polaris came with a double back spring and I like that idea but it wouldn't stay in the hinge line so it was aero drag?

I'm a recent concert to 1S setups, but I'm sold. I flew a comp recently with my 900s. I swapped out a fresh pack at lunch time. I checked both packs at he end of the day. One was at 3.95v and the other at 4.08v. Apparently my setup sips the power, and these packs are great. No issues here.

My rudder immediately deflects once I turn the radio off!!
Hahahah! Yeah, it's strong. Lol
