I can tell you I have flown 2 miles on a biquad as a tx antenna. In fact it works so well I almost use it for all flying.

That's great! However it also depends on Tx power - the antenna by itself is not going to guarantee that kind of range. How much output power does your Tx provide?

I have ~17dBm Tx and achieving any useful range with low gain antenna is a challenge. So I'm glad I built the bi-quad - I'm quite happy with the range.
