It can depend a bit on what sort of setup you want, also brushed or brushless.
These are how I am doing it using two batteries to four motors. Inners to one pack, outers to the other pack, and using brushless motors.
Brushed motors can be quite different. just say so if you want brushed diagrams as well.

I suggest that the battery packs be hooked up in parallel and then all four motors take power from the combined packs. Use just one BEC as mentioned previously or as I do use a separate battery for the rcvr, servos, etc. This will keep the motors more closely in synch. It just sounds better.
Oh yeah, consider running reverse pitch props on two motors for torque abatement.
