New Product
efflux RC... AMA appv'd 80mm and 90mm ALL ALLOY EDFs

EDIT July 21, 2011

Our ALL ALLOY edfs are now AMA approved.................................................. .................................................. ..
Initial testing of the Mach ALL ALLOY 90mm EDF has been completed.

Weight of complete 90mm EDF unit (no motor): 244g

The video depicts the peak thrust at 6 KG.
Hear are the other numbers

Volts........44.9
Amps.......118.69
Watts........5329..2
RPM..........34429

Posting peak numbers for EDF is consistant with the industry. Below is the avereage, settled thrust (during a 30 sec run)

Settled thrust....5.6 kg (12.35 lbs)

Volts........43
Amps.......114.93
Watts........4899
RPM..........32533

.................................................. .........................
Equipment used:

EDF: Mach ALL ALLOY, 90mm (CNC Machined entirely from 6061-T6 Aluminum)
Motor: HET 700-83-1080
ESC: Mega power 120 opto
LIPO: 12s, Fullymax 55c, 5000 (4s x3)

.................................................. ..........................

EDF test stand configuration

INLET: no external inlet lip or bellmouth intake (the EDF housing has only a small inlet radius on the I.D.)

EXHAUST: open

Mach and I both have 39mm MEGA 22/80/1E (1080kv) motors on the way for continued testing.

I will also conduct our usual, in house testing upon receipt of the EDF unit and MEGA motor.
We will provide a bench test video and unedited flight test video, as is our standard policy.
My bench test will include a .25" radius inlet lip and an open exhaust.

..............................................

We hope you guys follow along and join in for continuing developments.

Gary

Great numbers and this is WITHOUT a full intake lip...

Your amps and watts are switched in your figures....

Hows the heat transfer from motor to shroud?

Also, KA test stand....did you guys make it yourselves? If not where can we be acquired?

Nice

Regards

Thanks for the correction. I fixed it above, as well.

The heat tran fer is excellent. The motor is a very tight to the motor housing I.D. and is assembled using thermal transfer compound (heat sink grease.)

The thrust stand is available from us. I havent posted them on the website yet.

The price is $685.00 (scale included)

Optional intake and exhuast tube supports: $99.00
intn'l flat rate shipping: $69.00

Can't wait to see the 120 numbers, looks like for around 15pds of thrust on 12s it'll use less than 100 amps...

Was flyin some of my 70mm today and want to keep everything light

I'm awaiting the the weight spec, and hopefully the efflux velocity.

It should be pretty light,
All the weight will be in the motor and battereis.

edit: is it just me, or does that thing not sound eerily similar to an early generation axial turbine? WOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Rich,

Price, coming soon.

We may see a bit mree from the MEGA. They will be available for 36 and 39mm motors, so there will be a varriety of motor choices. and brands. I'm sure we'll see our euro friends running Petties and Lehners in them as well.

The sound is always a plus for those who are concerned.

So what about running this on 6S?

I need a 6S setup for a 90mm.

This is intented to be a high powered unit and requires high power to spiin it at the RPMs required for the previously posted thrust. You are going to need a 120HV ESC for 12s, At 6s the amps would near 240.
I would not consider 6s a possibility for this fan.
Maybe a higher kv motor for 10s, but youll need a bigger ESC. You could run it on less cells, but your thrust will decrease accordingly.

At this time, it's only been bench tested on 12s, with one motor.
