Old BVM- Agressor-II rebuild on a 90mm EDF!

Hi Folks,

attached a short video of my "old boy" Was the maiden! so i had more to trim than to fly!
Got an old AGRESSOR-II with build in Viojet-ICDF and replaced the complete ducting with a "home made one" for a prototype of a 110mm fan.
But then i decided to use my JF-90V2 with the brand new HET-700-75-1250 KV on 12s, the boss of HET, Tony Tang was making this 75mm canned motors especially for me a year ago as prototypes!
So i had to use OPEN DUCT using our own lip with 70mm distance to the 110mm ducting.
I also made a second hatch like the Electra, to get the 2 x 6s 5000 batteries as bricks directly in the V of the ducting. So the COG fits without any troubles.

Enjoy the video, have fun :-)

With my very best thanks and greez to Tony from HET, and of course to Bob Violett for this great plane!

Hi my friend,

Thats a good idea.
Just need to know which sizes in cm or inch!

As we have different names for the sizes (even if named s, m, l or something xl, xs, xxl ,xxs)
the dimensions are differing here.

So tell me how many inches from the collar to the "belly", and how much inches around the belly.
and pls. tell me then the corresponding name of the size for USA.

Ducting for 110mm fans

Hi caps,

Now with our new JF-110 PRO, i remembered that i did the ducting for the Agressor-II in 110mm, but took then an Open Duct solution with the JF-90 V2, as there was no own working 110mm fan available at this time.

have been flying the bird several times, but now it's owned by Enrico, the guy on the first pic.

here the plan was to use a JF-120 ECO and to make a new inlet ducting for that, but now we might use the existing ducting for the brand new JF-110 PRO.

So here a few pictures, and data for the used batteries in the configuration with the JF-90V2.

You will see that we can easily mount the JF-110 PRO, and use the same batteries, just a few centimeters more to the nose, as the JF-110 PRO does have a little more weigth than the used JF-90V2.

But we will have more power again, and around 30A less!

The inlet ducting was made for the use of splitter blades, but could easily been adapted to the fully FSA of the existing inlets.
The first try out will be done with the existing outlet diameter of around 90mm, but maybe we need to open the outlet up to 95mm as smallest configuration.

This complete conversion will be done to an old Viper also, as Enrico has one named "Hangar Queen"

The used batteries have 12s/6300 and a weight of 1812 Gramms with cables! The dimensions are: 50 x 60 x 155mm

Enjoy the pictures:

Hello Chris,

We just plan to roll a sheet of Mylar, similar to BV.

if it's necessary to increase the outlet by cutting the tail cone, we can easily make a new thrust tube from Mylar or similar materials.

Best regards,
Rainer

Well, I meant the exit of course. The nozzle on that airframe is 85mm.

Ups,
didn't remember that, as the plane is now located in the house of Enrico.
So we anyway have to overwork the nozzle to 90mm for the first flying tests, and maybe even greater up to 10mm.

The issue is that the older ICDF units had around 5 Kilos plus of thrust, and then the smaller 85mm out le t ist OK for that volume of air.
Now we are all using whooshing fans multi bladed and here it seems that most units need a bigger out let.

But we haven't tested the new JF-110 PRO with any kind of a thrust tube.

The new aerodynamic design was planned to be able to work with smaller outlets, but we have to test that first.

Sorry for my missunderstanding.
Rainer
