"Can I fly it?" is a favorite of the teenagers. "How much did it cost?" always shows up somewhere. I usually don't get questions when I tell them there is a camera onboard, just suspicious looks. Its been awhile since I've flown in a public place so I'm not too familiar with the current questions.

How long can it fly?
How high can it go?
What's it made of?
How long you been doing this? (about 10 minutes, grin)
How'd you get into this?
And, my all time favorite that shows the panicked state of mind nowadays, no kidding, I have been asked by three different people on three different shoots if I am Muslim. They always ask out of the side of their mouth, as in jest, but they do wait for an answer. Understand I look as white as a redneck could possibly look, but my answer (for the last two, at least I had to think of it) is "A sala malekum my brutha!"
We should get these Q&A's on the back of a Tshirt, or a cardboard sign.

The all time best one from a yahoo contractor building a house:
you reckon I could use that to take video of some women that layout nekked down my street?
What is that thing?
How much does it cost?
Where can you buy that?
How do you know where the nose is?
How high can it go?
How far away can it go?
How long will it fly?
You mean it can record video?!
Have you told the SWAT guys about that?

To quote one of my old teachers when asked how much does it cost?
"Well that depends, there are three numbers in that answer. There is how much the hobby shop said it would cost, there is how much I told my wife it would cost, and there is how much I actually paid."

Frequently onlookers tell me I should be making a bundle with
AP. They are astonished when I tell them that the FAA has different rules for hobbiests and professionals so I do this as a hobby.
Then I might do someone's house protrait for free and make a good and generous friend in the doing. There is more than one way to gain from the experience.

Hi there, nice thread
my favorite as mentioned a couple of times: "can i try?"
i tried a new answer for the last few weeks: "yes, no problem, just give me >insert price of plane+200$< and then you can try."
i am still waiting for the first to say "yes, here, take my money"
my answer to the muslim question (i do not get that because i do not life in the us):
"yes, i am, but don't worry, this is just a test run"
sorry, no offense, just could not resist...
