D-3D Doesn't Disappoint...

... & she flies larger than her size would lead you to believe...

i can see from the videos it is clearly aerobatic, but with it being only about 1m in wingspan how does it fly?
Handles wind like a plane almost twice its size. Even so, 20 mph is a bit much for most any ship with a 40" WS...

Weak points (for me) were the tail feather linkages & connectors. I replaced mine with stouter Dubro ones & have been very satisfied with their performance. Still flying mine (mostly) stock but using a APC 13x6,5E prop & I did the battery shelf mod. Paint job leaves a lot to be desired but you get what you pay for...

The D-3D does really solid harriers with minimal wing rock. Probably due to the fact it has double wings, Does the nastiest tumbles too, to the point she seems like she'll tear herself to pieces but instead she just keeps on going & going...

She always puts a smile on my face & I wouldn't hesitate to replace her if I ever auger her in & end up turning her into packing peanuts. So far so good...

Thanks for the info, only slight deal breaker, 20mph wind is a gentle breeze here, lol
i have saw some larger and much more heavy versions of the pitts on hobbyking , they are both around 3.5Kg and i think 1 is 1.4m the other is 1.6m wingspan, perhaps those would be more suited to our gusty wind?

I too switched to the APC 13x6.5 with good results. I decided to try a Xoar 13x6 wood prop and now that is the only prop I run on all of the Dynam models. Be sure to balance the blades and the hub, it's well worth the time for the extra power.

I just picked up a master airscrew 12x8 prop. Any thoughts on how the devil would handle this prop?

Elevator Trim...

...has always been an issue with this bird...

I've know for a while that the incidence of the horiz stab to the main wing is off on this one. Been deciding whether or not to trim & shim the horizontal stab or just mess with the motor thrust line. Went ahead & shimmed the motor & added a bit of up thrust to see if I can dial down that elevator up trim somewhat. We'll see if this helps somewhat...

If not, I'll get out the scalpel & start slicin' & dicin' the tail feathers to get that stab to end up being parallel to the main wings & get this sorted out once & for all.........
