Price dump on Blade 500's

I guess I wasn't the only one who thought these were way overpriced.

That's pretty cheap and hard to pass up. I still want to see the size difference vs. the 450.

Wow those are crazy good prices.. $400 for everything Radio, battery, charger, 500 heli itself.. Im surprised they are not sold out yet. Anybody "new" to the hobby or wanting to step up a size from 450 needs to jump all over that deal.

But it's FB Who cares it's only $250 bucks.

There is a reason. Sorry to pop some bubbles, but the regular 500 from blade is a POS. I think they used their regular engineers to make it. Same ones that copied the walkera 120 and put out the 130x. Hired a 3D pilot to market it and that is how we now have the 500x lol!

Why is it a POS? What's worse about it than the 450 3d?

+1, mine fine. I have 450 3D, 450X, and 500 3D. They work fine for me though downside is most parts are plastic. For fun and starter, it's not bad. I paid $162 for 450 3D, $315 for 450X and $260 for 500 3D all brand new BNF. What can I expect for how much I paid. I think's it's great deal and never regret.

I can't believe the price for a complete RTF (ready to fix by some here) Blade 500 with radio & battery! Since it is free shipping also, I will push the button on this deal as I only have one other 450 CP helicopter to fly now! If I am proved wrong, it won't be the first time, but I'll put my money where my mouth is!

You wont be proved wrong. The blade 500 is far from being a POS. It's just a mid level FB heli.. Nothing more , nothing less.

H.H is just moving out old stock that was collecting dust due to the FBL take over. They also do this often with their planes. Out with the old in with the new kinda thing.

ready to fix, hehe funny. o maan, that sucks to be a newbie and buying RTF and not knowing "real" translation. my two models were good to me though. I wasn't quite ready to fly myself on the first one. pine tree 50+ feet cought it for me so it wouldn't fly away out of sight.

Gee those trees are so helpfull all round the world, At least you never got hurt. The price at the moment is attracting alot of new pilots to the hobby, unfortunately if they have no idea how to setup and maintain a heli properly something this size can kill whatever it hits.

Thanks for the comments on the newbie pilots! My FP helicopter still lives in the trees close to where I live, trying to take videos from as high as possible, the wind authority was something not planned on @ the time. Gotta keep flying if you want to get better! By the way, my first helicoper was a Cp Schluter Heli Star back in the mid 80's that was a nitro bird, so I do have some clue as to how to build a kit & maintain a bird. RTF is a big misleading term, but the price was one that couldn't be resisted!

I loved those Robbe Schluters back in the day. I wonder what happened to them?

Mine is sitting @ work in my office as a display piece from back in the day; the Futaba radio system is probably not completely functional anymore! It will never fly again as there are no available replacement parts!

The price pulled me in too. Now I've got a few flights on it I'm really starting to like it. How do you like yours, was it setup good out of the box or were the servos not centered and swash not level like mine was?
