I'll be signing up soon (TD only). Just wanted to confirm the practice field will be open for bungie practice during both F3J days. Also, where are the Master Class signups with Joe Wurts and D Perkins?

In previous years they have not allowed practice during the F3J contest. Even the "practice field" area is in play and having others up indicating air, or just potentially getting in the way is not good.

Hi Tom,
Well 2 years ago they allowed it and I and a few others didn't interfere at all. IMHO the practice area is plenty far away. If I can't practice during F3J days sadly I'll skip the contest as it's a bit of a l-o-n-g drive from N Calif for just 2 days of contest...

I will let Monaco or someone in authority comment, but I distinctly recall a couple pilots trying to bungee launch over there during the J event and being told to stop.

To be clear while F3J is running we do not allow flying. But after we are done each day the field is open. On Friday the contest should be complete by 2:00 pm so plenty of time for practice. I really hope you will join us we are planning a great contest.

Donnie, thanks for the clarification. Are there any nearby fields with a grass landing area where a bungie could be used on Wed/Thurs/Fri?

There is a field close by that has grass. I will get the exact location of it. And yes you are correct there has been practice during f3j in the past. Now with the large numbers of contestants it just is not safe to have people flying. We have had people flying directly over the launch area and had to postpone launches because of it. Chris hope you make it down.

The CD is in charge of making sure that there is no frequency conflicts. I've skimmed over the entires so far. And I don't see any conflicts at the moment.

I'll see if we can get a list of freq's available posted.

I'll be on channel 43 myself
