You have to wonder about our federal mail institutions, Aus Post must be one of the most expensive, slow and reliable postal services in the world, and yet I ebay a half dozen servos from the US and the USPS gets them to me in 5 days, what's with that!!! I can't imagine fedex doing much better and it would take Aus Post three weeks to do it at three times the cost.
Lol TJ, I have actually done that kind of mail bag-on-the-go transfer, not on land but on the water from boat to boat while they were on the go. Was working as a skipper for a little island resort and we had to chase down the mainland ferry in our little chase boat or Island ferry, they wouldn't stop but would take a small diversion to let us know to get our @sses out there immediately. I used to where a cowboy hat back in those days. Slopin' winds are finally due back tomorrow, so hopefully... |

Funny thing about shipping. I shipped a 5 1/2' box to Ken in TX by way of the dog (Greyhound) last week. I dropped it off Wednesday afternoon and he had it Saturday morning. Much cheaper than FedEx or UPS too.
Steve, I can picture wearing a cowboy hat, riding the waves to get the mail.

For the gun lover
Off topic again but had a fun day. I've been trying to hunt down a S&W BodyGuard .380 for over a month now and nobody local or online have them in stock. Actually, there's no .380's of any make in stock locally. Saturday morning I got up early and called my LGS and they got two in the night before. Five minutes away and by the time I got there, one was being written up.
Went to the range this morning to check it out and it's everything I expected from reading about it. Iron sights and laser dead on at 21', eats any ammo you feed it without a hitch and fits the hand excellently for a small pistol. It's loaded with all the features of a bigger gun and has second strike capability. I highly recommend this compact, pocket .380 for anyone in the market for a new EDC. |

Eat lead mofo
Call it culture shock . . . whatever . . . but dwells' post leaves me ice cold.
EDC - Everyday carry - tactical items that are worn or carried by a person on a daily basis. I had to look this up - I though Eurovision Dance Contest or Eau de Cologne. Cons (where do I start and finish?):

Occasionally someone pops in here to chastise us for not staying serious, on-topic or relevant to what they, in their over-inflated sense of superiority, feel should be discussed. To those people we say "Don't let the door hit ya in the on your way out. Now, normally I wouldn't express that sentiment so boldly but with your additional snide comments about our "culture" or "community" I can only see your remarks as provocative and insulting. So, for that let me extend a big old American (guess) you!
