Tried EBAY? There are a couple of EBAY stores that sell acrylic tubing at very reasonable prices. I'm not sure how far they will ship.

I've not found anyone cheaper in the UK than here-

http://www.amariplastics.com/amari/

Guide price..... 2 metres of 3mm thick 100mm diameter extruded acrylic tubing- 25

You do have to buy a minimum of 2 meters though.

Lexan is a more forgiving material. But it's very difficult to obtain in tubular form in the UK, and much more expensive than acrylic.

A much cheaper alternative to either of these, is upvc drainpipe. You can purchase this in a variety of diameters, and tend's to work out about a third of the price.

It's easier to work than acrylic, and more than tough enough.

Snag? You can't see through it, so it doesn't look as swish. So what!

Andy

Hmmmmmmmmm, I would have thought they'd be higher. How thick was the dome?

Thanks

Well I had a quote from one(at least) display place that was much higher!

Obviously plastics manufacturers will always be cheaper but then you get into the 'minimum order' area.....

IMHO, 8" of 3" diameter pipe for 17-50 is taking the mickey, whatever way you look at it.

The best way to offset purchasing a large quantity, is to see if someone wants to split with you, or just hold a stock in for future projects.

Another idea is to give the company a call, and ask nicely if they have any offcuts. These are usually a very cheap way of obtaining material.
