Help!
Stuffing Tube Diameter

What size stuffing tube do I need for a 1/4" flex shaft. I need the OD and ID. I have never ran flex before. Do you need the teflon liner or not? I have read a lot of mixed reviews.
Thanks
Jimmy

5/16" OD thin wall brass without a liner works well for a 1/4" flex.

Doesn't matter about wall thickness? I have found some with an ID of .248, is that to tight? Thanks Bill.

The wall thickness IS important. With a .250 flex diameter, .248 ID will not work. With the thin wall 5/16" tubing you can actually add a step down tube at the front for a closer tolerance fit on the flex where it goes to the coupler and still have adequate clearance inside the main stuffing tube body to carry plenty of grease.

.265 should be close enough for ID.
