Cellpro 10S dead

Hi.

I have the Cellpro 10S charger in use for many months now.. Not sure how but smoke came from the unit, dead now.

As I am along way from the repair center and the cost of shipping is too high, I took the cover off to find the 2 IC's had popped.

One IC, in side the Coil, which I can get locally. The 2nd is to the right of the display. Board Ident is U2. I can not make out the chip number or manufacturer. It ends in 00N ??

Does anyone have infomation on this IC. I have emailed tech support but no reply... :-(

Thanks

Richard

Hi,

I have not received any emails from you. The chips are as follows:

U10 - TC1427COA713
U2 - TLC272IDR

Q28 and Q29 could be damaged as well.

Also check D10 to see if blown.

Hi Howard

I have replaced U10 / U2 / Q28 and Q29.

The charger now powers up ok.. but when I set to charge I get input voltage less then 10 Volts error.

Hope you can help again.

Thanks

Richard

Hi,

Try centering the toroid, there is a diode that is located under this component and if they are shorted might cause this problem. Also, the diode may be bad which can also cause this. Look down the center of the toroid and you should be able to see the diode. I know we have made a layout change and newer chargers don't have the diode under the toroid.

I think I have the New version.. 1_5 as I can not see the diode.

I have just bought three more for work, but would be good to get this working.

Anymore thoughts please.

Richard
