Yippee!
Another SX2 ready for Maiden!!

Well when I first got the kit I un-rolled the fuse and it reminded me of those little fortune telling fish. I don't know if some of you know what I am talking about but it was a little red plastic fish that you placed in your palm and depending on how the plastic fish curled determined your fortune.

When I saw Martin's fish SX-2 I was like darn someone beat me to it. Well here is my version.!! Looking forward to maiden.. I hope weather works out for tomorrow.

LOL

With you and Martin both doing fish, the SX2 is going to get renamed the Fish plane!

Looks good. Sure the neighborhood kids will get a kick out of it flying.

Got my SX2 kit sitting on the shelf. Its next to build after I finish the 2Cool bipe kit my wife got me as a suprise.

These 3D foamies are a heck of a lot of fun. Darn addictive, if you ask me.

That looks GREAT! I love it!

Odd, a large number of 3D ships seem to look like fish eh?

Hey how is the build of this kit. It seems to be flimsy, am I wrong. How many servos are required.

Thanks

For me the build was brutally slow. I used GOOP and this glue takes a while to dry. Plus all the clamping of the surfaces to keep them together. It is not a very complicated kit to build.

As for flimsy. I wouldn't call it that. The nature of this kit is to take a beating and bounce back into it's original shape. It is by no means a rigid balsa plane nor meant to be. I have yet to fly it so I don't really have an impression of the performance. Judging from the post for this bird it should be blast to fly.

Have patients if you undertake the build because it is kinda slow go...

Motor whoes!!!

I have a CC Phoenix 25 controller and a AXI 2212/34 both brand new.

The motor is not working properly. It powers up and will run fine for a one static test. I can power down and perform the same test and the motor starts jerking like it is out of phase. When this happens the motor gets slightly warm as does the controller.
I have tried both a 2s and 3s pack and I get the same results. One thing I did notice was when I perform this same test without the prop things seem ok. I can power up and down and then repeat that process. Soon as I add a load to the picture then boom problem occurs again.

So you can understand how I have the motor to controller connected. I am currently connected Red lead from motor to red lead of controller. White lead of motor connected to white lead of controller. Black lead connected to black lead of controller. I am running through a Deans connector. I thought this might be my problem so I just soilder up a new one and I have the same results.

Any thoughts.

That's an awesome plane!! Mine is getting close...I'm with you, it's taking a long time to build for me because I'm so afraid of screwing it up. I have the same power system as you.

What kinda paint is that?? I have some Pactra Racing FInish RC car paint, the "candy" colors are transparent, so I thought that might look cool..
