Davenport ISR 2013

Race Announcement

Pilots, workers & spectators,

This year's Unlimited International MoM Slope Race will be held at Davenport on May 18 & May 19, 2013 and hosted by NCSS, Norcal Slope Soarers Inc., AMA Charter Club #4494

Davenport is home to the legendary ISR MoM race which is held in the spring on the California coastal bluffs overlooking Waddell Creek State beach. The race draws competitors from up and down California and never fails to provide excitement for both Man on Man racing fans and pilots alike.

Last year's winner Darrell Zaballos was screaming fast with his very tight lines and SoCal's Bill DelHagen wasn't far behind with Scott Woodward, trying to catch him. Have you got the plane and the thumbs to take the title from Darrell or will your efforts just make you a candidate for the Baskin Trophy? Sign up for the ISR and find out!

This year's field will consist of 33 racers. Top 10 racers from last year get the first ten slots and a lottery will determine the remaining positions. Pilot registration is now OPEN. Please visit the (EVENT DETAILS) page for information on registration and rules. The deadline for submitting all required documentation is: April 30thth

Spectators are welcome: Specific guidelines will be posted on this site.

Regards,

Mo Culverwell

Thanks Mart. Want to focus on F3F this year with Needle. But then again as race gets near may not be able to resist the MOM....as we both know its the ultimate in wow factor when it comes to slope racing...nothing out there to compare!
Eithr way will be there.

I know James Osborn is putting the final touches on the web site so he should have it up soon for sign ups. He has put a LOT of work on it lately and is improving it.

We added some planes and updated the AUW Ballast Sailplane List that is used for Tech Inspection. See attached. James is also incorporating this in the web site.

WOW! Bill - This will be your 20th ISR Anniversary! Pretty impressive.

We are trying to avoid dealing with entry fees at the race this year, as much as possible. If your plans are "iffy" and you end up being able to attend at the last minute and want to pay on race day, you can still do that.

Save some money though and send in your entry fee today. Only 18 days left at $75.

This year's entry fee is still only $75, until April 30th. Then is goes up +$25. Details on web site.

Only 35 days left to race day!!!

The wind forecast for Sat at Davenport looking good right now. I may head out there Sat to try ballasting Precision to max and fly a few laps.
Come out if you want. In the mean time will be pushing to finish my second plane for the race this week sometime.

Great! Just looked at windfinder for Waddell this Sat. Still looking good! Ive never put more than a few sticks of ballast in the Pike, looks like conditions may allow a lot more this weekend. Im hoping to have Needle ready for next weekend.
