I have a Magnum .10 and would like to find a good trainer kit. Any suggestions?

Look in "outerzone'? for a Pilot 10 plan. (saw it in there not long ago)
Mid 70's kits out of Japan. All their works were Very Good fliers actually

Prairie Bird 50 is another option. They can be found on RCGroups occasionally and on the 'bay.

The Prairie Bird would be an excellent choice for a .10-sized trainer. Regarding the Pilot designs mentioned above, Pilot produced another kit called the Junior 100 and that plan is also on Outerzone.

about the same as sticking the engine on something like a sig riser or CG gentle lady. maybe chop a foot or so off the wing span.

thanks everyone... I am aware of Pilot Kits.. wish i could find one but I may have to scratch build one. How hard would that be. I have only built kits and I have not built anything in abiut 18 yrs.

I like the Tooter too!... Does anyone cut a kit of this, even a short kit would be good

Actually a two meter glider is a great trainer with a .10 if there is enough room in the fuse for a tank and servos etc.

I looked today via rc Groups and RC universe and Ebay.. no luck

Are you looking for a real beginners airplaine or a trainer with 4 channels?
The "Stick" type of planes are great fun, even as you improve on your skills, and the Chea-pass should work well on a .10 engine.

Hey thanks... I am looking for something a little more forgiving, but that is something I was looking for as a second plane also.. thanks alot... will put that one on the second plane build.

Randy Randolph's "Dime" is exactly what you need. AMA has the plans, and Lazerworks cuts a short kit if you want it. It is quite large for a .10 size plane but it's very light. Randy designed good airplanes and had a ton of experience by the time he did this one. It would be very easy to fly and it's a pretty simple build, even simpler with the short kit.

Yes, I like that and I found the Lazer Works short Kit... and it looks like it is 4 channel... Just what I was looking for... thanks so much

I am trying to decide between the RCM Basic Trainer and the Randy Randolph's Dime.. Both are Short Kits from LazerWorks...

Seriously? If after a First time trainer. Suggest you fit a cheap electric power system. To an almost Free foamboard 'aeroplane'..pretty well indestructible.contraptions when slapped together from EPP foam bits..
Big on training abilities... not so great on looks though.
Look in the 'Scratchbuilt Foamies' forum for massive help
Easy reliable and hassle free.. so you can concentrate on avoiding the ground, without the additional distraction of starting and keeping the motor running... or long and involved crash repairs :-)
