Joe: Are you and Dave off-setting your motor from center line?

Bill that's one of the snags that I have, I need to mount the shroud securely but to be able to adjust for the thrust line
Tried the thrust with the bare airframe and got some strange results I will check all my angles and try again with the shroud and rudder in the prop wash and see if I get the results and settings needed and post the results
Will check with Dave what he has done

Joe I have a shrouded prop model that I have been flying for a few years ,and the way to set it up is to have about a mm clearance t'ween prop and shroud ,so that would mean that the shroud on your model must be off center ? ? ?

Hi Chris the test I done was no shroud or rudder
I will need to do a test with the shroud and rudder in place when I work out how to secure it and give me some adjustment

Update: Fitted the rudder servo, motor mount and motor
Working on rudder and shroud mounting at the moment

Joe: I think I am going to center the motor and adjust for thrust either by shimming one side of the motor with washers or just trim it out in the air with rudder trim.

Going to off set as Chris suggested and test with the shroud and rudder and if not too bad will do as you say and trim with rudder (providing I get in the air)
Made up the rudder control for closed loop

Update Dave's Avian 2-180
Dave is at the stage of testing the thrust angle and has started the covering of the model
He reports that with the shroud in place it will need a small amount of trim a lot of expo under power and large movements power off and the sound with the shroud is awesome I cant wait to hear mine

Dave Looking good...........

Drilled a hole in the cut bottom piece and added balsa pieces to center the shroud with the motor
Added extra ply where the supports go and made the mast box
