Only a max windspeed of 32kts !!!!!!! Imagine if we had more wind .... The Deepend had no ballast and did 355mph which is also an honourable mention.

Wow that is awesome! Great to hear the deepend is pulling its weight, I wonder what speed with ballast it could have achieved.

Yes happy the weather system did pan out We just need that little bit more.
I think that's the best thing about DSing , and doesn't matter what your flying it always has room for improvement
The k130 was just locked in as always , got the 371 on a little suck down after many 340 , 50's finally got a 360 and then the suck down , both guns got it coming out of the death hole , it and ezza got the most out of the wind , so made a good choice bringing it back to earth gently for the next big day.
The deepend and sean really deserve big a mention , to do 355 with the first lightly built version with no ballast ( missing 2kg ) which works out to be about 60% of the loading of the k130 , really shows how well this thing performs. And sean really flew flawlessly and there wasn't 1mph left in the wind we had.

Also ezza's new K2m with a quick 313 just to get it maiden flight sorted. So cool , what a great ship.

we will get that magic big day soon , and we will be posting a number starting with 4

Big congrats Ezza, great to see the Aussie record finally move up after so long.

Peak gust of the day was 32kt. The high AR models work brilliantly on our hills to milk every little bit out of the wind. Below is a screenshot of the wind measurements for the day at Toowoomba, which we've found to match the wind speeds on Cactus very well. The 10th column is average wind in kt, the 11th max gust in kt.

Holy crap, nice flying and what a great day at a great spot. I like the "radar twig" you hide behind. Such a beautiful piece of terrain there at Cactus.

Yea that was me crouching down well protected behind the twig.
I was scared. The only comfort I could draw on was the knowledge that it would be a quick end if things went wrong.
It is beautiful place, made better with such a great group of guys.
