Help choosing 2M sloper for big lift!

I'm just getting back into sloping after a number of years, and I'm looking for suggestions on a 2M sloper (or thereabouts) for coast sites with really big lift and harsh landing areas (i.e. Westridge, Norcal). I definitely want an X tail as I have an Ocelot Carbon V tail and the turbulence here makes it yaw all over the place and the pitch control isn't great (even ballasted up a lot). Thought about the Typhoon, but I have the Minivec which flies spectacularly, but I'm not too psyched about the build quality. In addition, it seems too delicate for Westridge. Ultimately, I'd like something very strong and good at aerobatics but great at carving turns and retaining energy (so no symmetric airfoils). Any sage advice?

PACE DS Opus MCT

i would have thought the D80 with it's DS optimised airfoil would be a bit lacking on the frontside when compared with a more alround plane. Strong as anything though...

You've pretty much described my favourite plane.

The Sagitta Projekt Zwo from Simprop.

I have no idea if it's still even made, but I love mine, and ZeroZero did a build thread for his.
2.2m, holds massive energy, and the fuselage is utterly bombproof. Build it with a 4-servo wing and enjoy crow-braking

Erwin 5 fills the bill except it's V-tailed.

Or a CR Contestant if you don't want a twisty.

Contender is a great plane. I love mine, however it only comes as a short kit. As far as molded planes go, I love my Erwin (allthough as previously mentioned it is a V tail) and Spider 2.5m. They have a 2m Spider as well. Both X tail. Soaring USA has lots of great 2 meter X tails, the Ocelots bigger brother, the Lynx, as well as the Espresso, Surprise, Ruby, Terminater and Weasel 2m. Check them out here... http://www.soaringusa.com/products/s...ategory_id=258

ERWIN V. There are two that get flown regularly at Tick. They spot land with flaps and are very durable when off spot.

Why x-tail?

Opus V is rock solid, but it's V-tail.

Thanks all for the suggestions. Based on what's available (at SoaringUSA), and not too expensive, I'm thinking about the Valenta Espresso. Bob also suggested the Cappuccino if I want to go larger. Experience/comments on either?

Nope, I think these classify as "UNOBTAINIUM" ...
Well at least the "AIRJET SAGITTA" does

And, No ... this one isn't for sale ... unless the price is right ....

Although, the Leading Edge Gliders 2M Crossover looks like it would be a great plane to play around with ... and its a foamie! so it will bounce a bit more ...
