Question
Cheap TX for the Parkzone Sukhoi

Hi,
I really want to get myself a Sukhoi but I plan on sticking with 72mhz for a little longer. Whats the cheapest (price wise) TX that will work with the Sukhoi?

Thnx,
Jakub

The cheapest of the cheap would be buying a Vapor or Ember II style Tx. However, the low resolution of these controllers makes it difficult to fly, from what I have heard. Next, perhaps you may be able to snag an LP5DSM. Should be I think 35-40 dollars now if you look hard. It doesn't have digital trims though, and I think it is worth investing another $5-10 to get a DX5e which, although lacking expo, has digital trims.

EDIT: Also, the LP5DSM only has a range of something like 300 feet. DX5e is full range, so you can use it on larger planes.

The Ember 2/Vapor/MCX tx is good up to and over 1000 feet. It has great resolution, just the lack of expo and the small and thus un-precise gimbals make it very hard to control.

So for cheapest radio for the Sukhoi.....hmmm.......DX6i, cheapest radio for expo, mixes, and timer, and everything else you need to fly this.

I'm in the same situation. Thinking a DSM2 module might be the way to go for me.

I atually ordered a DX5E, but read several articles convincing me that I should go the extra funds and get the DX6I. Waiting for packages going both ways.
