I made the following mods to it:
- custom paint job (front, back, battery cover, module cover)
- gimbal upgrades (replaced cross bars with alloy ones, replaced springs with futaba heavy duty springs, lubricated with silicone grease, tension adjustment)
- installed 6 position switch S3 switch on top
- removable antenna upgrade with 2db, 5db And patch antennas
- speaker upgrade (replaced 1/2W speaker with 2W 36mm speaker, 3 printed adaptor and backing)
- static reduction mod for when external module is in use (ferrites on main cables)
- silicone covering for stand
- gforce Gravity bar
- upgraded to latest opentx
- custom sounds
- custom splash and model graphics

Everything works as expected. Field tested. Way more time and effort then I thought it would take but most of my projects usually turn out that way.

What do you guys think? Good or bad?

Nice, what paint did you use?

How did the Ferrite clamps work out? I a plus on the way and was thinking of doing that mod. On my old B model I just di the separate teh audio wire and hot glue it method which won't work on the plus.

I did my B-Model (non-plus) with the Testors metallic blue and then a clear coat. If came out a bit darker then I wanted because of the silver base underneath. I then went with Metallic Green which I think came out nicer (more contrast with the black parts). My next try might be a lemon yellow or a bright red.

I don't care about the charging LED since I charge outside the TX.
I use a 3 cell lipo.

I have two B models and a Plus with Speaker mods.

Thanks!
The problem is that I did an amplifier mode before.
I'm juicing the on-board amplifier with 5V instead of the regular 3.3V
I do this by tapping into the raw battery power that's after the main switch.
In this thread I did a howto for that.
In the end I chose for using that 5V for driving my LED, but it could well be the RAW power with a larger resistor.

Of course I did the proper calculations at the time, I believe I used 330 ohms but not sure. If you tap into the RAW battery it has to be somewhat higher. You need to limit the current going through the LED and for this you need to know the range the NiMH is going to be. Focusing on the highest peak, which is 8.4V

I have a picture of that mod I did.
Be aware the focus of the mod is getting the amp to work on 5V
In the picture you can see an 7805 Voltage regulator which I connected to the switched raw battery output.
The input of the 7805 is the outer pin. The middle one is connected to the grounds. You can use that same pin to drive your LED

As long as the connectors are correct, sure.
