P-40 in the desert...

How'd you like to trip on this while wandering in the desert?

CRASHED AIRPLANE 1\2 Movie.mp4 (1 min 31 sec)

Check the links to his photo album... Unbelievable!

Not sure, but it looks very restorable. Hopefully it can find its way into capable hands.

After browsing the photos I am not so sure on how restorable it is. It looked like everything from the firewall foward was either bent, crushed, and scattered about.

I did notice the radio gear though, that alone is worth something and most likely quite restorable.

The pilot must have had an "uncomfortable" time landing, and that was likely just the start of his worries...

If the plane has sat in the desert unmolested this long, I doubt if there was a rescue crew nearby, either.

Have a look at their first P40 in their past projects:

We salvaged quite a bit of a 152 that augered in nose first, including all of the engine except for the crankshaft and all the instruments.
