There already is a product made for our applications in RC boats.......
check out this websiste : //corrosionxproducts.com
or for those in the midwest region: www.greatlakescorrosion.com
actually, this could be something a club could buy -because a little goes a
long way. I bought the "trigger spray" 16 oz. bottle - for 2 good reasons.
1) I am leery of aerosols lasting a long time,on something I use seldom,
and are semi-expensive-trigger spray will last forever
2) I like being able to open bottle,dispense,re-bottle and cap...see below
In my use, I pour an inch(or so) of the Corrosion X into a dixie cup -
and I take hold of my RX and DUNK it into the Corrosion X ! holding it by
the antenna wire - then with a stirring stick hang the RX over the cup
until it stops dripping -ie:is dry. then I can pour the leftover liquid back into
the bottle.I also take the connector ends of my servo's and dip them into
this product to protect them.
hope this helps

Sounds very interesting. Maybe even use it on the hull of a model yacht?
For electronic uses there is the question of conductivity.
Unfortunately the company says it will not be available in retail spray cans until sometime in 2012.

Depending on which side of the border you want to buy, CorrosionX and Corrosion Block are oil based for adhering to metals. NeverWet is nanofilm based.
From the NeverWet white paper, they have used it successfully to prevent corrosion in an industrial switch, so conductivity shouldn't be a problem.

There is a nano coating out there that does work on electronics, but it has to be applied under vacuum. Not really a do it yourself proposition, but it does work and is being used in industry. Company is P2i.
