Several threads, some long and with a lot of info, around on that model. Do an advanced search for threads with Taylorcraft 450 in the title and you should turn them up easily.

hello,
it's a docile plane, a tad heavy, will handle mild acrobatics...I like to fly it scale...it's my go to plane because I love how it looks in the air...

Checking on motor, other things

About to pull the trigger on buying the Taylorcraft but since its my first ARF I wanted to make sure I picked appropriate components for this plane.

I am using Hobbyking for mostly everything and have the following picked out.

Turnigy Park 450 outrunner 1050kv http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/s...arehouse_.html

Hobby King 30A ESC 3A UBEC
http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/s...arehouse_.html

Turnigy TG9 9g servos
http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/s...arehouse_.html

Turnigy nano-tech 1800mah 3S
http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/s...uct=20429.html

TGS Sport 7x5E Precision propeller
http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/s...arehouse_.html

Already have a DX7 with the AR7000 receiver.

What do you guys think? What do I need to know for putting this together?

Thanks

7x5E sounds way too small. My EFlite Park 450s on my P-38 swing an EFlite 10x8E prop very well. The EFlite Park 450's spec'd for 9x6-11x3.8 slowflyer and 10x5-12x6 E-props.

The Turnigy's a bit higher KV. I'd probably put a 9x6 on it and go from there.

Wood prop, of course! Gotta' complete that look!

Thanks! I actually put this post up on a more appropriate page and got very similar suggestions, and am going with some 10x6 and 10x7 wooden props.
