Motor specs?

ESC?

Batteries/Voltage?

Something water cooled would be better or a water cooled mount perhaps?

Specifications:
Dimension: 35mm x 28mm, 51mm(with shaft)
Weight: 63g (kv3550) (not including connectors)
Voltage: 2-4S
Max current: 20~28A
Diameter of shaft:3.17mm
Length of front shaft:16mm
ESC: 40A

I would use a ESC with 50A, batteries some 3s 2200 ...i don't want it to run very fast and go around limits, only for fun in a lake..

Really i had this electronics in a box, and i would like to build a boat from the plan, in balsa wood.

Hahahaaa, for fun alright! :-D That motor will be revving hard on 3S.

Small prop?

I'd run one of these & run a large prop.

The kv is a bit high for running on 3s. It would put no load prop speed around 41k. 2s would get you down into the 29k no load range.
It would need to be a small prop, probably 36-38 mm range.

OSE has quite a few couplers listed depending on your chosen cable size. They don't really show one for 3.17 mm but think that the 1/8" listed there would most likely work if you do the metric to SAE conversion.

You can find most of the other items you'll be wanting there too if you browse the site.

I am currently building a Mini outrigger that is 17 inches long..Here is the motor Im using on 3s..Rpm will be 38850 and is a proven setup..Its between a 450 and 500 size..http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/s...er_3500KV.html
Pair it with a good 55a esc and youll be good..I will be using a octura x430 on 3s..It will fly..
Also..Be sure to use the highest C rating you can get..Especially on 2s..Thats another reason I want to run 3s with a smaller prop..40c 2s pack would have 80 amps on tap where as a 3s 40c pack will have 120amps on tap..
