Mini Piper Flight Report

Just made the maiden flight with my Yellow Mini Piper this weekend.

It flies GREAT !!!

With a complete stock set up it balanced perfectly and only a gentle hand toss was needed to get it airborne.

I only have 2 complaints. It flies forever with the stock 1000 Nimh battery and flies so quiet that you can't even hear the motor run.

The little Piper can be flown slowly with plenty of control or at full throttle it is quick and very responsive. It glides well. I was flying in about a 5 to 8 mph wind and still had plenty of control at about 3/4 throttle.

Nice tight loops. Overall I would say this is a Great Little Fun plane. I would recommend it as a nice stable park flyer.

That is one good looking plane. I just ordered a mini piper from HL and it should arrive tomorrow. What I really want to do is paint it to look similar to yours but I have no painting experience. Can you tell me what paint you used and how you knew that it was foam safe? Also did you airbrush it or did you use a paint brush?

I'm thinking of using an airbrush or a spray can to keep the weight light, though I want the painting costs to be under 35. Any suggestions?
