At what point does not telling your wife

About the number of vintage rc kits purchased become dangerous?
I make sure to get home before her so that I can collect the kit and store it with no evidence left

In all likelihood she owns more pairs of shoes than you have kits and probably buys more than she ever tells you about.

RV, Andrew is correct. To answer your question directly , never. It is not possible to have so many vintage kit that it becomes dangerous. The way you are approaching the hobby and acquiring kits is the preferred method. When I die my body will be burned in a huge bonfire with my vintage kits.

Just fight fire with fire and tell her they were "On Sale." She can't possibly come up with a valid counter argument. And in truth you are only buying"closeout" and "discontinued" items.

A fellow posted some time back that he expected his wife to sell his R/C estate for a couple of hundred bucks since that was what he told her it cost.

LOL I don't think we can win this battle. I've brought stuff home for FREE and I still get the look and the head shake. But then I am asked my opinion of which Pampered Chef item to get. The $200 frying pan or $75 knife.

Heck, just look at how much their shoes/clothes cost!!!
Have you ever checked one of her receipts from a lingerie shop?
Or the cost of her makeup?
This kind of information is called "arming yourself with counter-questions"!

I have a real relationship...We are honest with each other...

She know this "throw away hobby", but she knows it has formed me who I am since I was a teen.

My woman knows the value of my stuff, and comes out and flies with me-she flies..

I have not flown much in a year because I have restoring cars, and she helps me with that, but I help with her things too...

A marriage/relationship is participating in each others lives, and compromises...

All the best guys,

Martin

Skorski, My wife will never, Ever spend enough at the lingerie shop!

I see your avy is a CB, what size?
Along this line, when I came home with my old Kz 1000 in the back of my truck (for free I might add) She said, "I think we could have discussed this, I said ""We can discuss it now"" She said, I don't see the point! I replied, "I didn't see the point earlier". No more discussions about me bringing home bikes till the last one, a GS1000. "How many more do we need?"
My reply, "Till people quit giving them to me.
Current skoot stable, 2 CB 750s and the afore mentioned liter bikes. I will not admit to model airplane kits or engines...ever.

vic w....
"71" CB750 sohc......it too came home in the back of a truck! (Many years ago!)
I didn't sell it till I had my "GL1000 in a box" up & running...!
My all time favorite for daily commutes & general he!! raising was a "71" Kwak Bighorn 350!
I found early on that Kawasaki had sponsored a few of these in the 250/350 roadrace circuit back in the early 70's!(to switch classes only required swapping jug & piston, all other parts were the same!)
Do a search on it, I beat up on countless Yamaha RD350's & bigger on the local twisties!
Fun!

Found a solution to my addiction.
When the latest treasure arrived yesterday and she signed for it, I told her she was holding my birthday gift and it was just the right size.

50 year old kit beats pants imo

Andrew, You and I have crossed too many paths over the years to never share a flying field or hard drink together. When will we change that? Surely you have an event or business travel reason, heck favorite distillery we could meet up at!
