composite RES model around 80"

Hi guys,

Is there anything similar to the Precision RES (141"), but with smaller wingspan, between 80" and 100"? It should be really RES. It would be nice if a motor could be fitted in the nose, but this is only of minor importance.

do you know anything?

thanks!
brgds, Stefan

Esprit Model has the Pulsar 2.5.

and the Pulsar 2E.

I don't know how they fly though. I don't have either one. Maybe someone else will chip in on that or with some other planes.

this is interesting, I originally wanted to write please no Pulsars, as I thought they are only available with 4 flap wing. I think the pulsars are awesome, but I want a RES! This is great, thank you!

Mmm, I don't know of any current ships that meet your desires. Yet there were a couple not to long ago. One was the Mini AVA at around 2.5 meters and another that I don't recall the name yet was from the Photon producers and distributed through Jerry here in the States

An alliterative to consider; Pulsar 2meter REF, strip the top coating off, add spoiler/spoilers, recover and lock the flap. Just a thought.

hi Jared, why do you think the Pulsar 2500 is not ideal?

Hi,
Yes, the Pulsar 2.5 RES could be ideal from what you expressed.

AllegroLite meets the flight requirements beautifully- no kits, though, and not molded or composite.

yes, I like the Allegro a lot, but sadly I do not have time for building it. I saw that there is a basic kit with lasered ribs available, but this means I have to build the spars etc on my own, and as I have never done this before it would take too much time. I am eager to learn all this, but not this time yet.

But thanks guys for all your suggestions, I think I go with the 2.5m RES or even the 2m REF, I begin to kind of like the idea of REF as well.

2.5m could only be a handfull Euro's more then a 2m. And even though it may only seem like an extra .5m, the 2.5m's usually have a wider cord and thus much more overall wing area.
Just a thought.

Yes, but mobility is another thought. that 25cm of each wing, or the additional weight can be a bitch while transporting by bicycle, or the 2m is easier to catch by hand.
But yes, you're right!

For some reason British glider guiders are not very vocal around here but there is a UK made glider that is exactly what you asked for originally. It is not well advertised and I suspect is made to order but according to the BARCS webpage it dominates the top spots in our 100s competitions..

The Tracker 100S is a molded RES glider of 2.5 meter span (100 inches) made by Lite Flite.

Unfortunately I don't know the cost as I've just started investigating a RES glider myself and haven't contacted them yet. The contact us link is on the LiteFlite webpage if you'd like to ask

Ah, bicycle. That can change things.
The a 2M Pulsar REF.
For light set up; Hacker B20-12L and a TP 70C 850ma 2S pack.
