I went ahead and ordered my Japan DVR. I also found these. Anyone have any experience with them?

Ready Made RC KS 650M

Help! I bought the Ready Made RC KS-650M mini dvr and I am having real trouble reading the instruction book. Has anyone else used this? Things like how long to charge the battery, which of the two modes, Q or N to use, whether it records without a SIM Card, and how to get it to play back are really hard to determine.

Can you post the instructions ?,
as for the memory card it says;
Flash Memory: 128MB internal
so it should record without a card but for how long ?.

It works!

Paul, Got a photo card and finally figured out the instructions. It works great! I find the time/date stamp to be useful. I did 3 15minute flights with no problems. The biggest problem was the amount of time it took to charge the battery, about 8 hours. Then everything worked fine. It is tiny, only about 31/2 by 3 inches, too small to actually fly from. Thanks for your reply

Hi, 7AC;
Glad to hear that it actually works, Have you uploaded any videos to youtube, daily-motion etc,,, yet ?, mine left the 9Th but it still hasn't arrived, the French postmen obviously have eaten too many snails,,,, and at 25° and sunny down here they are probably stopping for coffee and croissants, and Pastis every 5 minutes

About a year ago I bought a cheap car dvr , it came without av in/out so I thought it was useless and put aside.Couple days ago found it in some boxes with junk electronics and decided to try it as onboard recorder. Without case, LCD, battery and with ext. cable for camera pan-tilt it wegh 40g., onboard record turned out much better than expected so I immediately ordered ($26 ebay) similar DVR with AV-out, todays record:

the record is much better than looks on youtube,
here is 50mb mp4 file uploaded to YT

The lens come with 6cm flex cable so one can tilt or pan the camera easy, I extrended the cable even more to have both.
The record was done while DVR overclocked, original 6MHz crystal replaced with 9.2MHz clock resulted in 50fps, these DVRs are plenty at ebay ($25-30)

Frame rate looks really low. As detail goes up, it gets choppier.

Has anybody managed to modify a mini DV camera to accept av signal instead of recording from the built in camera?

still much better than four composite DVRs I have.
the DVR is 1 year old and back then cost only $32
I've already ordered similar looking ones with better specs incl. AV-out

Gents,
This new #18? 808 HD keyfob camera just appeared as a first with A/V out capability:

It will be interesting to see what the lag time is for FPV use.

Cheers,
Jim

The Aiptek HD cameras will stop recording when they see static. Only the older
Aiptek MPVR/MPVR+/MPVR+CB and variant model names for those will record through static.
