If you seal them up, it will make a difference. I run a really tight gap, but I always seal them anyway.
On the Laser 48" I noticed a lot more pitch authority.
The 48" Extra has the smallest elevator of the EXP lineup. I've learned to just fly the plane harder and pull the elevator harder. I know that sounds simplistic, but it seems to suit me best.
However, the 60" Extra is just right with 70 degrees of elevator. It pitches about as hard as the MXS does with 60 degrees. So far, in the 60s the Yak seems to be the pitch monster, though it is too early for me to tell with the Laser after only one flight.
I do a couple of walls and parachutes in this video and you can just the pitch authority for yourself. Nothing special on this build except Hitec 7245MH servos set at 7.4 volts. that has been my first experience with these servos and they certainly have some speed and grunt. I just put a set of these in my new 60" Laser too, and any new 60 EXP I build will get these.
