Outrunner Wires in EDF Installation

Is it acceptable to drill through the shroud of an EDF to bring the wires out or should you just run them behind the EDF and out through a hole in the thrust tube.

I'd just bring them out through the back, and through the thrust tube. Fairly certain thats what most do. No need to weaken the shroud.

You can counter sink it a bit as I have done in this picture. Your behind the staters and mounts, and not much goes on there.

do what ever works..I have done them in a sleeve and even did flat metal tabs to clean up the airflow..but most of the time just run them up the back behind a stator as the loss is not really measureable

I usually run the wires around the back of the shroud, but I normally put heat-shrink around the wires that are in the airflow to minimise the disturbance.

Yes!

I read out runner in the title, not practical for an ESC in the thrust tube of an out runner setup
