MultiCopter Lost On Lake Winnebago

A local modeler lost his multicopter and is looking for ideas. See map in the link.

Quote:
I am from Upper Michigan (I live part time in northern Appleton) and have been in R/C in one form or another off and on for over 20 years. I recently got into the multirotor. Today I was flying from the lighthouse in Neenah and a big gust of wind took away the quad. I tried the GPS RTL but to no avail. The wind was too strong for it to fight it. I highly doubt it made it to the other side and beyond but quite frankly I lost site of it pretty quickly. It doesn't help it was white (knock off version of the DJI quads, lol). Any advise on top of me walking around the lake for ages would be greatly appreciated. I have offered an initial reward of $50 but it is certainly is worth more to pay a larger amount if efforts to locate it were to cost more. I have put up an ad in hopes that would help but I doubt anyone is going to take the challenge, lol.

Any help from fellow modelers would be appreciated because I am sure some of you or people you know have had to deal with a similar situation.

Thanks in advance.

Odd that it didn't make national headlines " Drone crashes into lake CIA investigating".
Hope you find it, do you have your name and phone on it somewhere?

Nice article by Pete Smith on "WHAT IS A DRONE?" that I though I would share. Sorry for poor quality fonts but with images, etc I had to reduce quality to allow it to be posted under the size limit.

Attended my first ever airshow yesterday at EAA. I've never seen full scale aerobatics before. Loved it! Figured I'd share some photos I took. This is a link to my album on FB:

Thanks! I've got an old (by today's standards) Nikon D70. The telephoto shots are with a 70-200VR f2,8 and I crop them quite a bit. I don't normally do photography anymore, but for things like this I force myself to lug it around.
