These videos are done with my "keep it simple, stupid and cheap" FPV equipment.

I use a supersimple mechanical head tracker, made from the mechanics of an old RC transmitter. The tracker is interfaced to an Graupner/JR MC-12.

Video transmitter and receiver are home made using AWM modules. Recording is done using an JVC GR DX100. Some pictures can be found here

NOTE: there are higher quality versions (higher bitrate) of these videos available through YouTube directly:
FPV Flight over Schnepfenthal (7 min 48 sec)

FPV flight over Grossenehrich (3 min 30 sec)

However, here are the embedded versions with a lower bitrate (any idea how to embedd the higher bitrate versions?):
FPV Flight over Schnepfenthal (7 min 48 sec)

FPV flight over Grossenehrich (3 min 30 sec)

If you remove the de. and put www it'll embed them in the post, same thing goes for uk for those posting from the UK.

Hey,

wer had a really amazing weather over christmas in the bavarian alps.
I tried out the OSC Cam in the snow with very problematic light conditions.
With the BLC Area set to the whole picture it worked very well. I fixed the white balance to have better results inn the snow.

As you can see I had problems to stop the twinstar on the icy snow but after some touch and goes I managed it to break it down on top of the hill.
I am very happy with my new TrackR2, it was not drifting at all and it was very cold but sunny. The combination of one linear and one circular patch was very good with my 10mW Intel videosystem.

regards Sebastian

Mr. Sebastian that was a really cool vid.
I loved the silence part as well. No constant humming of servos very good!
You are lucky that is a nice place to fly.

tbmg1, WOW I cant wait! omg nice.. In the future I would like to have a setup around my house with 4 receivers or more all connected to one source.. they would be setup on the 4 sides of my house.. This would allow me to fly just like that with the best video signal all the time from inside of my house

ahhh dreams..

VERY NICE VIDS GUYS!

Thanks Rick.

I've been pleased with the cameras and don't feel I need to upgrade until I break them both. Or better ones get too cheap to pass up. Right now I'm struggling with Vimeo. I complained to them on their forum that the videos are jerky in the flash player but they didn't respond. So I've done some research on my own and I'm thinking maybe they told me the wrong bit rate to upload them in. I've reduced it and am doing a test upload so I'll see. I'd like for people to have a good experience when viewing these.

Understanding the digital video process is much too complex. I've been an active computer user before DOS was around and still am much in the dark on providing the "right" file for the masses. I have good editing and encoding programs but still the choices are many and much effort can produce a poor viewing experience. Intrestingly, I have learned more here on RCGoups about rectifying troubles with videos than anywhere on the net. I expect that enthusiasts like yourself have given good direction to solving dificulties that programmers don't.
Thanks,
Rick
