I recorded lots of data early on to find the best prop for climbing.
@0.352 mah / foot or 352mah / 1000 feet the 13x6.5 worked well now I climb at 40 mph full power and I know that is the best climb angle Climb mph dmah Angle feet / min mah / ft Himax 3528 13x6.5 E shallow 62 372 1780.0 0.418 Himax 3528 13x6.5 E steep 40 333 2367.5 0.352 Himax 3528 11x8.5 steep 50 320 1844.0 0.347 Himax 3528 11x8.5 shallow 58 423 1434.3 0.421 himax 3522 12x8 steep 38 4113 1107.2 0.372 at 352mah / 1000 feet and 5000 mah on board.. How high do you think its been.. ? Eddie |

you are "nuts " not to get a glider without flaps or spoilers
let alone not hook up the rudder ![]() for a few hundred dollars more you can get a very much more high performance glider from "soaring USA" or other places of course the components far out price the airframe, so spend some extra $$ while you have a chance ![]() go over board and try the fastest glider around like the one I will hehehe i will break the world record for the fastest fpv plane hehehe http://www.soaringusa.com/products/p...ategory_id=266 rtf just need to install rx and video tx hehehehe at least concider this one which is a better choice and shipping is way less as well http://www.nitroplanes.com/ventus-ar...n-2600-mm.html Last edited by David22; Nov 07, 2009 at 01:33 AM. |

that first one is the ugliest pos ive ever seen, I wouldnt pay 2 bucks for it, dont care about performances but that 2nd one from nitroplanes does look pretty slick, might as well get that one from the usa instead of the hobbycity ones.
thanks for the link |

Stay away from the Ventus, it is a tip stalling nightmare, i have flown both the Ventus and the Discus from CMPro, the Discus being far better.
Also have the same FlyFly ASW28 that Eddie has, it has a larger cockpit area. This is the cmpro discus, much much better than the ventus, and is cheaper. http://www.nitroplanes.com/dics2arfrare.html |

I think this is the fastest and most powerful FPV plane I have seen..
45 lb thrust turbine...220 mph measured (not in this video) 60 shaft horse power
same plane from ground.

One day when I get to installing the flap servos and rx and video stuff
i will post "my" ultimate glider for fpv http://www.soaringusa.com/products/p...ategory_id=266 All my planes are eventually going to be fpv. why not ![]() But I will never buy a glider with out flaps or spoiler ever again. especially with the added weight of the gear. landing with spoilerons via fpv would be a hard task unless you have a football field if your football field hehehe is a large area of corn or whatever, long grass, etc. a retreival system, beeper, or whatever is a good thing. fast gliders with out brakes will not land at your feet, unless you are lucky or a very good pilot, or your plane is not really that fast |

true for sure Trap,
but I was hopeing to fly for closer to 45 min.? even if I crash, I still want that feeling or dream to come true My problem is I have this plane and like all my other i get borred really fast doing non fpv. I am testing out a fuel system to let me fly for about an hour, and will post finnal picks here. Dang i even put a fpv system on a dlg which has no motor. Most likely will get the "fox" from multi plex and try to copy Wobbies install I liked his spar accross the leading edges I am going on a two hour drive to find a site where no one lives today. way the out there. real country, where my spoter will be looking for bears and wild cats instead of my plane lol bear spray will be apart of my ground station lol Finding new places to fly is fun as well One day i will post some planes that should NOT be flown fpv near populated areas hehehe |
