Hi strike3

I have had few incidents during testing where the stabilizer had few contacts with wall and also my 2 year old dropped it from the table which bent the stabilizer I have managed to straighten it but can see a indent at that spot and think that it is bit week at those spots Also when the elevators move I can see stabilizer is not rock solid as it moves at those week points. I might not do it straight away but first take it out for few flights and access it

You could try putting carbon rods (2mm) in it to stiffen it up... mine moves slightly too, I think it is because of the way the whole tail section is separated from the fuse... no big problem...

the styrene (?) stabilisers come with a skin that holds their rigidity - replace that with packing tape and or carbon fiber /bamboo skewers and they'll be as strong as they ever were.

the flexing you see is due to the control system not being well designed. if you were to replace the control surface horns with ball links and appropriate connectors, they would rotate as necessary and the horizontal stabiliser wouldn't flex as much.
I made a 1/4" balsa tail and painted it white for mine and it's added noticable weight to the tail, which reduces flight times.

i'm thinking about cutting circles out of the broad sections and iron on covering (or more packing tape).

Yeah you're right... The angles are not helping either with the single servo position trying to drive the hinges which don't sit at the right angle... They bind slightly but the foam allows it to move ok... No real issue

Dunno how a hot iron would go on the foam - i was talking about ironing film covering onto balsa.

Cool Jim... definitely a better camera than mine!
You were flying too high for us at the start, although we were dogging each other for the cameras as well... certainly shows the closing speeds

I'll do some editing later, gotta get the pizza oven fired up... my daughter has 5 friends staying over tonight... OH NO, 14 year olds!
Hope I get some sleep for tomorrow's flying... should be nice again!

Just received my kit. I see that theres no markings on the ESC, just a black heatshrink tube.

Is this still the 30A or is it higher than that?

Also, what mods should I be looking at doing before the maiden? I see that people recommend a larger amp. ESC. Any structural mods?

Also, can anyone point out the specs of the stock motor?
