Description:

Looks like an interesting product that will simplify the wiring for a beginner, but it is not something one might need on a more long range plane The application where I see it useful is Ground vehicles or multicopters to have fun around in your yard.

The features and specs looks good though, and the price is competitive, I would say, at only $80 mark it is cheaper than other stores.

White Balance: Automatic
Video: 1440x1080 30FPS
Trans Flash: Micro SD up to 32GB high speed
Transmitting power: 200mw
Transmitting Frequency: 5645~5945Ghz (8ch)
Size: 44x37x18mm
Weight: 40g

So this is a much higher res. camera than the fatshark 600 tvl that comes with the fatshark attitude system, but does that mean you will see a better picture on the Attitude fatshark goggles?

Also, why do you think it may not be suited for long range?

I have ordered one.

Absolutely no. The higher resolution you see listed in the specs is for internal recorder (dvr). Actually the video that will be saved on SD card. Unfortunately they don't tell how many TVL lines have the live output that goes to transmitter. But I think it is not anyhow higher than 600 TVL.
What is good about this, that you can have fun with your car, for example, just by mounting this on the car, and you will have live video and also HD video recorded on card. No need to mount may components.

I didn't think it would

The big advantage to me is that it is all in one because if you have a HD camera on board + Tx + camera = 3 items to be carried and connected.

And if you buy this + Fatshark base goggles instead of say, the Fatshark Attitude system it is $37 CHEAPER

yeah, but bear in mind that this one does not use fatshark frequencies, so it will not work with fatsharks out of the box. Or you have to buy separate video module for fatshark in order be able to use boscam frequency, or you'll have to use and external receiver with your goggles.

almost every Chinese brand will use RP-SMA instead of SMA.
Unfortunately I can not recommend any cheap adapters except ReadyMadeRC
RP SMA Female to SMA Female Adapter
RP SMA Male to SMA Male Adapter

Thanks, but it seems to me the simplest (but more expensive) way to go is forget FS and go Boscam goggles + TR1

Besides, I hear Boscam goggles are better than FS

considering the trend of using different style of goggle like Quanum http://www.rcgroups.com/forums/showthread.php?t=2184050) I bet fatshark will lose a lot of room.

Power supply

I can't work out whether or not we need to hack into the USB cable for the power supply to the unit. Anyone knows?
