This is my first turb' and am still going through forums getting advice.
Q.... Is it worth stripping the covering and glassing the bird or is it ok from kit?

Cheers

Sell the Falcon and buy a Navy Cat which require no mods

A friend has a Falcon & had the same idea as you, strip, glass, paint.

He got as far as the strip part ..................

If the model is new and/or in good shape I would not bother.

I did recover my Bobcat 50 but it needed repair so it needed covering repairs once fixed.

John.

Navy cat. $429USD = $570NZD plus shipping and duty. I paid $280NZD. Not justifiably for Navy Cat
Hi Boomerang1. Kit it in great condition. It's an earlier version from what I can assertain. I'll build her as she is though do upgrades where recommended

You want to save $200NZD and then put a $2000 turbine on it ? I wouldn't besides you'll spend close to $200 on glass paint and covering. Sell it to someone for glow or edf. Navy Cat is a proven turbine airframe with no mods.

I see you logic however the price difference is $290 plus cost of shipping which could be around $200 and add on custom duty. Glass and epoxy doesn't cost me anything except for my time.
It's ok for you guys in the states as everything is more readily available.
