Cheers man! Yep, there is no turning back from 6x4.5 if your setup can run it. Can't wait to get more props so I can tune out the wobbles!

Question:

When we increase the throttle, does the voltage increase or the amps?

Amps i guess. I know that if you draw too much current, the voltage will drop. Consequently, the lower the voltage the more current you'll need to power the ESC so you end up with things getting hotter.

I see. This is good info.

Would you say that this works somewhat in a similar fashion where in it controls the amount of amps that come from the batt and goes to the motors?

I'm using what I learn from RC in building a wind and solar power grid tied system and I need to control the amount of amps (or watts) that goes to the grid tie inverter.

actually i think same voltage just at shorter pulses so RMS voltage becomes lower volts on average.

Guys what do you think for a all around stable airframe
for light weight application

two of which are in the works.

900mm wing and 1200mm Glider.

as for the glider my bet is to lift an action cam and a small fpv gear. with a fraction of the Power
requirements of similar size planes.

Oh... I was hoping there was a device that can vary the amperage from a DC source to a load but maintain the same voltage output.

I've seen one on the workbench of RCModelReviews but it's huge and meant for troubleshooting. Maybe there's a smaller version.

alex, Amps is determined by the load not by the ESCs, brushless or brushed..
yes as Halile that's a desktop dc power supply that can LIMIT the amount of amps in order not to destroy the circuitry if there was a short.
Those things are usually expensive and have low amps, look for PC PSU although no limit on amps if you have a short circuit it would just blow the PSU up :P
In most applications the voltage is varied to control speed or brightness (if light emitting) but those can also vary the amps imagine it like this _-_-_-_-_-_-_-_ the "minus" is .5 volts and the underscore is 0.0 v avarage voltage would be .25V amps only half of full .5 v (because half the time it's " off")

Great explanation!

So it's like turning the power on and off very very fast. That would likely burn the grid tie inverter and probably my house. I have to rethink the system design.

Thanks guys. I knew I could count on your tech/engineering knowledge. This forum is the best!
