Check the SIGMFG.com site. If they have the parts you can get them direct from them. I just picked up the kit over the weekend at their fly in.

Fiberglass Specialties has the glass cowl and wheel pants. http://www.fiberglassspecialtiesinc.com/catalog.htm

Look under "Accessories for Kits" and then Sig.

He Guys,

I've been reading this tread for some time now, while building my own SIG Citabria. Lots of useful information here. THANKS!

Wanted to show my progress, so attached 3 photos of my current status.

Fuselage ready, left wing also almost complete. Right wing not started.

Very nice kit to build (this is my 2nd build). The wings will be split exactly in the middle. Found that idea on this tread. So 1 wing + 1/2 center section. (Hope that will work).

Also trying to keep the cockpit clear of any wires and servos. Hope to fit in a dummy pilot.

Will keep you posted on progress.

Oh, will be electric setup. Not allowed to fly combustion engines on my field.

Greetings Matthijs

Hello EJ,

Fuselage and motor cover are covered with red oracover & white oracover.

Motor cover white = painted
Wheel cover white = painted

Inside of the air holes in the motor cover = red paint I had in the shed which was the exact correct red color to match the oracover.

I have used oracover on mutiple planes the last years and I'm very happy with it. Makes it possible to repair damages without a trace. Totally different from repairing foam planes. These always end up looking repaired.

(I only started flying 2 years ago, so had my share of repairs the first year).

Greetings Matthijs

Hai,

No. Made a Jamara Marchetti which does fly but is a nightmare to start. Is heavily crashed at the moment. Going tot give it one last try once this one flies correctly. Dives to the left during start and low airspeeds. Got some advise at my club and will try later this year. First need this one to fly.

Starting with a low wing kit was not very smart after all. And the jamara kit is no good. Poor wood, worse instructions.

Then scratch built a decathlon of 25 inch. Flies very nice but only at low wind conditions. Which is a problem over here.

Current plane: 50 inch pipe cub from e-flite. Love this plane.

Did you already fly yours?

No. I covered it, and went on to start a Dave Platt Waco YMF-3 kit. Then Life happened - again!

In August of 2012, while on vacation in the Pacific Northwest, my wife and I found a property that we just *had* to have. We relocated from the Southwest (USA) to the Pacific Northwest, and The Hobby was, again, sent into hiatus. At least the building part of it.

We are about to undertake a major remodeling of our home, and my shop. I do not expect to be able to turn any attention to building until the later part of this year. Maybe even Spring of '16. Gotta keep the wife happy, and the house is the immediate focus.

By all means, keep us up to date with your Citabria, right here in this thread. I'm very interested in how this kit will perform under electric power.

Thank you, but you are *way* too generous!

Please post a link to your build thread, if you start one.
