And no, I'm not trying to do this on my own. Will be having the peeps from RCA checking it over, and most likely doing the maiden - then just make some homemade training gear out of 1/4 dowel/whiffle balls, and work on hovering, not to mention a ton of sim time.

I know there is a big mix of opinions in regards to beginner helis, lot of people out there suggest 400/450 sized helis due to lower cost, however before the 400/450 size helis were available (pre-electric) most everyone started on 50 sized nitro helis. Now there are a lot of electric models that compare to 50 sized nitro helis, 550-600 size. If I had the ability for BNF stuff I'd probably have gotten a mini just to work on orientation, however can't see doing that since I've got a futaba radio. Looked at the t-rex 450, but a number of people suggested since I already have 6s 5000mAh packs just to go with the 600. More stable, far more than a 450. Also got this for the price of an align t-rex 450 so didn't break the bank

Charging my packs for the Xtra slick. Just rigged up a hat cam, lol - going to go test it.
That poor lil heli

Heli's can be a bit nerve-racking, they demand so much concentration. A guy was telling me one time that planes just want to fly, helis on the other hand, it's a wonder that they even do.

Have you ever checked out RC Aerodyne?

Cliff, the owner, is a class act. I got to see them demo the 600 and 700 for me when I went down.

You'll get over the training gear soon enough, I stuck with mine too long. Dang, now I really want to get me some 500-600 FBL Mikado and go nuts on helis for awhile.

Jholen, that paint job on your new Heli canopy is simply AMAZING!
That kind of high-detail airbrushing is just not seen much in the world of RC planes.

Nice backyard video man, I dig it !

Lardog, the song I used in the PARC video was, "Sweet Rain" by the Canadian band "Euphoria".

I heard some of their songs while listening to an online, streaming radio station called Radio Paradise.

I then bought a few different songs I liked from them on Amazon, and downloaded the MP3 files. Good stuff.

Yeah, I dig the canopy. Didn't realize I would be getting the v2 canopy, v1 was cool but I prefer the way this one looks by far.

Yeah, just a crazy idea on the hat cam. I remember someone else here on RCG that did something similar, figured now that I got something to fly in the backyard it'd be worth a shot. Wasn't a fan of the hat anyways, never really fit right. Might need to find a comfortable one now, now that I know it works. Just needs a shim to angle it up.

Tomorrow afternoon-evening for me... I think others will follow suit since it was real windy today at MARC, but once the sun started setting, it was great.
