Hmmmm, 3.5 lbs, 58" wingspan and it uses one 3s 2500 lipo ? Wonder what the flight time is?

Bigger then the Jpower and EFlite, smaller then Nitroplane's.

And only a 3 channel tx? And 300 bucks? Something isn't adding up.

Pretty much same info on Tower, and nothing on the Red Bull site...

Oh well, can never have enough P-38's in the hangar.

Sorry about that! It's actually a 6-channel stated on the info page. I'll get that fixed.

Howcome they never get the landing gear looking right on these P-38s?

I dunno. The more I look at this the more it jumps out and screams "Cheap".

The plastic chrome spinners, the grey props, the "jet" pilot, the silly-looking landing gear, the lack of paint on the superchargers..

I'm not diggin' it. Especially for $300.00

looks exactly like my 1400mm J-power P-38, same mis-painted canopy lines, same gear doors, same servo setup in tailboom.

Well.......it IS a Red Bull, not a Marge. Can give a little license for that.

But your points are certainly well made. Especially the $300 price point. Ouch.

That's funny! As long as the model doesn't go trans- sonic, that's OK!

Your paying for the size of the wing and retracts and that's pretty much it. I get that manufacturers can't give us the super scale P-38 foamie we all desire without the price point going through the roof but I sure wish they would meet us halfway.

Sure it flies good. Never met a P-38 that didn't.

I think the $300 is better spent towards a P-38 like the Legends Models (VQ) P-38
That's a bit closer to being reasonable IMHO.

This looks exactly like the old JPower. Great flying plane once you do work on the retracts (mine is also set up for 4s) but its a 5 year old design and foamies have come a long was since then.
Still glad to see ANYONE making a decent sized lightning again, and I do like the RB scheme.

How much does it take to get a vq flying? $1300? $1400+? Bit of a different ballgame.
I've been following the vq thread and that $500 kit requires a LOT of work.
Personally I'd rather put some time and upgraded components in the jpower and have a reliable, slightly smaller but still relatively fast lightning for almost a thousand bucks less.

There's definitely work to do on the VQ but you get what you get for $500+ bucks before adding all the guts and glory. Probably will be my most expensive build to-date but it's going to be worth it once complete.

I wish someone like Freewing would come out with a scale P-38...Kind of given up on FMS.
