Symmetrical 4-digit NACA airfoil generator in Matlab
I was stuck with a Katana plan with the ribs but not the cuts of the whole wing that would help me to produce templates for sanding the leading edge. A fellow modeller produced some airfoils in 'profili' for me, but simply none was properly fitting.
So I sat down, found the equation for NACA profiles at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/NACA_airfoil and wrote a little Matlab function. There is no fancy maths, so it should work also with the free clones of Matlab (Octave, Scilab, ...). The result can be exported to DXF using writedxfline.m from Mathworks pages: http://www.mathworks.com/matlabcentr...writedxfline.m
I overlapped the results with the original ribs in Draftsight, looks pretty good. It can be easily modified for assymetrical NACA profiles or anything where you have the parametric representation.
RCG do not support *.m files, so remove the .txt from the filename after downloading it.
