Im sure it can be made to fit. There is a little work to do even to fit it on the CP. I think it would be best to build a platform for the chassis to sit apon inside the fuselage to get a good clearance of the rotor head. Im still working on my prototype. The tail motor is mounted in the scale location, there is no stock tailboom on this one. A tailmotor housing is glued to the rear tailfin.
My plan is to build me a foam platform for the main chassis using the superskid parts and mount the chassis to the platform and then bend me some 3/16 aluminum for a more scale like landing gear. The fuselage is bulky then again its a Huey.

Looking good, darth, this is the one I've been waiting for.

The tail boom looks awfully short with the fuse being so bulky, and the nose doesn't seem to be sticking out far enough...

Maybe it's just those pictures or my warped little brain, but you've got my attention for sure! Thanks again for your efforts!!

The molds were made from scaled up drawings, I didnt stretch or shrink anything. The tailboom probably looks that way being photoed at an angle.

Yeah, it looks pretty good on the unpainted fuse shot.

NICE!! You're dead-right about the skids...a little improvement there will work wonders. When do you think you'll have the body ready for sale?

Do you have a pic of how the frame was modded to accomodate the higher tail position?

Tailmotor and rotor mounting

I basically used the same mounting technique as I did with my Apache tail rotor. The stock tailboom does not run down the inside of the Huey tailboom.

Some more pics. I made my chassis platform from spent foam meat trays CA-ed together and with a 1/16 plywood plate on the top and bottom of the block of foam. Got in a flight today and It flys just like a huey. Im temporarily using the landing gear off the 1:18 scale elite force Huey which is actually a little bit to big for this size huey. I had to dial in a half turn in the pitch links to get heli to hover at half stick.
