MKS Sbec installation

Should the MKS Sbec be installed at the reciever or at the servo?

I would install it at the servo. That way the servo is being supplied with the regulated voltage and not the regulated voltage less the voltage drop from the wire harness.

I always install them at the servo for exactly the reason Tom K advises. I have used them on two or three molded sailplanes and have had no problem with just stuffing them in the wing. They're very light weight and well protected in shrink tubing.

If the goal is safety or preferable weight distribution they should be installed at the RX. That way a wiring short won't take out the whole plane. Also, voltage drop can be a good thing since it only occurs when the servo is highly loaded, which can save your servos from burning when stalled while still providing full speed under normal operation.
