ALES is now officially "for real"

ALES must be here to stay as Hobby King now offers a programmable ALES-type device.

Don,
Be sure to post what you find in your testing... I am impressed with the flexibility in altitude and time settings... We will see what the quality is like. LJ

Hopefully it will be better than standard HK quality so you don't have to buy five to get one that works!

This is FlyDream Altitude Permit.
You can now order either the programmer unit or the logger separately.

Already for the casual flyer it beats the CAM as you can use the programmer to do a quick check on the max altitude from the last flight, do a reset for the next. Programmer doubles as a LiPo checker showing each cell using the balance plug. One less piece of kit needed as I can now forget my HK cell checker.

It is smaller than the CAM and is in a clear shrink wrap with some gauze fibre wrapped around the circuitry to muffle it instead of the CAM pink foam.

Accuracy.... we shall see
I just ordered one, very interested in your test results.

I picked one up this week and have used it twice -- once on my Radian and once on the Maxa. Some results with the Radian were surprisingly good, but I could not get it to work with the Maxa today. I'll have to work it out on the bench later.

More detailed results reported here:
